The Phillies split with the Atlanta Braves at home, 2-2 was the series as the Phils did step up to stay in the Wild Card race, although the problem may be the low amount of remaining games left now. The team is still 2.0 GB on the Wild Card race, they are surrounded again by the Mets who have stormed back to be relevant again and putting the Diamondbacks back to 3.5 GB after handing them a 4-game sweep, the Cubs, and the Brewers.

The Red Sox are out of it, they have been failing this month, and their GM was fired because of it. Much different story in the Phillies, that this team has been rebuilding and retooling for years, and there hasn't been the same hot seat as other teams have had.

27,022 was the attendance for the final game in the series with the Braves, Phils fans aren't exactly flooding Citizens Bank Park to see the Phillies in this Wild Card race. Of course the team must continue to win to have a shot at the playoffs, and do something like the Mets just did, the Mets looked out of it a few days ago, they regrouped and swept the Dbacks and now they are back. The Phillies can't keep spitting and have a chance, they need to go on a long winning streak as the season is really winding down quickly.

A rare Friday off for the Phillies, a short series with the Red Sox awaits.
