White Sox series tests fans, Kapler tests curse-o-meter on air

Heck of a nice start by new Phillie, Jason Vargas

The Phillies kicked off an inter-league matchup with the Chicago White Sox on Friday night, we had a one-run lead but the Sox ended up tying the game late, sending it into extra innings. What ensued after all of this was sheer madness as the game lasted 15 innings and we saw Roman Quinn take the mound again in what seems to be a recurring theme. Not only that, we saw Vince Velasquez go out to left field make a great catch, then a great throw to get a runner out at home.

If we had won last night's game it would have been talked about for years, it turns out we lost this one, but it still may be talked about for a while. The reaction after the game by Gabe Kapler, still wrapped up in the moment of the game, losing his choice for quality words on a tv interview. Vince Velasquez in left field?

A chronicle of the game from last night, 15 innings with the Sox

These kind of things may happen once in a blue moon, but with Kapler at the helm, you have to be ready to expect just about anything. He's not your typical manager. Of course the day after it was all doom and gloom, fans expounding, media expounding, and just a general mess about what happened.

But just listen to Gabe, he was proud of his team, he stood up for them, it's starting to get interesting with all of this, the Phillies just need to start winning and the attitudes of both fans and media change like the weather, constantly ebbing back and forth. If anything, it's not making for a 'boring'season.
