Nola needs to get back to his Cy Young style from last season tonight in Atlanta

Aaron Nola was in serious competition for the Cy Young Award for a large part of the season last year. That was last year. Fast forward to now, and Aaron Nola just hasn't been the same pitcher for  the Phillies. In the last 7 games that he's pitched, he's had a 2-2 record going 43.2 innings and giving up 33 H with 50 SO and having a 3.92 ERA. All in all, not too bad, but not like we've come to expect from Nola.

Nola gave up 5 ER to Atlanta in a start on June 15th and 6 ER against San Diego on June 3rd with both of those games happening on the road and within the 'June Swoon' time that the Phillies went through. So looking at these two games are indicative with the Phillies latest struggles in the month of June.

The team is going to be facing it's most serious test of the year with this series, it's very important that they put the past month behind them, and get off to a good start in July. Nola's good start tonight along with a renewed offense will help the Phils gain some more confidence to get back to the top of the NL East.
