Phils give up two 4-run leads and lose 10-9 to Seattle

The Mariners out hustled the Phillies to win 10-9 last night at CBP

Can it get much worse for the Phillies? The team had two leads last night that for most teams are enough to hold on and win a game but not for this team. The Phillies promptly lost both 4-run leads they had at various times in the game last night and lost 10-9.

The Phillies scored 4-runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, then after the Mariners regained the lead by a 5-4 score by the top of the 4th inning, the Phillies came back and scored 5 more runs in the bottom of the 4th inning.

No problem for the Mariners, they stormed back to tie the game by the top of the 7th, and then scored 1-run in the 9th inning to win this game 10-9.

Jerad Eickhoff worked only 3.2 innings for the Phillies last night and gave up 5 ER, how many times have I heard various reporters talking about how good Eickhoff is? He certainly isn't showing it so far this year. Maybe he has potential but that isn't going to carry you through in the major leagues.

It was only the 13th time that the Mariners and Phillies have played against one another last night, they will wrap up the short series this afternoon at 1:05 PM at CBP in a businessperson's special.

Makiel Franco is struggling on the year, he went 0-5 and has a .208 BA - he had 3 SO last night. Eickhoff raised his ERA to 4.76 on the season. The Mariners, Ben Gamel went 4-4 on the night which included a 3-run HR.

Amazingly 31,715 fans showed up to see this game and a fair amount of those people were there to probably support Chooch, Carlos Ruiz, who made his return to the Phillies ballpark as a member of the Mariners.

That's what a team really cares about, are the fans supporting what this team has to offer? It appears as maybe some still are. A stadium that is 72 percent full when the team has been playing haphazardly is amazing.
