Phillies 2015 - some ending numbers

Only a few die-hard fans could cope with the weather and doubleheader on Saturday night

99 losses stand out as perhaps the biggest number on the final statistics that spelled out the Phillies season for 2015. At least it wasn't 100 losses, but 99 is just as bad as the Phils finish up as the worst team in the whole MLB.

Looking over the stats, the offense really wasn't the problem as much this year as the pitching was. That being said, the Phillies struggled to score runs. The team scored 626 runs in 2015, that was 13th out of 15 NL teams. This team also didn't walk very much, the Phillies finished 14th of 15 team in the NL with 387 walks on the season.

Ryan Howard led this team in offensive production with 23 HR and 77 RBI, the 35 year old played in 129 games for the Phillies this year to do that. Freddy Galvis and Maikel Franco each had 50 RBI to finish second place in RBI production. Franco did that in a total of 80 games played for the team this year.

To illustrate the Phillies troubles with runs this year, here's the number of games with runs scored, as you can see, the Phillies did very poorly in this department in 2015:

Pitching as was stated was another matter, the team did very poorly in that department. The Phils finished 14 of 15 NL teams in ERA. The pitchers also gave up the most HR of any other NL team this season, allowing 191 this year.
