The Phillies almost sent Ben Revere to the Angels for a prospect pitcher that is 22 years old named Trevor Gott.
A finalized deal couldn't be reached in the end as Revere is remaining with the Phils for now. It's not clear why the Angels didn't go through with the trade but Gott has been pitching really well for the team since being called up for AAA.
In 10 games for the Angels, the relief pitcher who has the nickname, 'Baby Face Assassin' has a 1.80 ERA for the Angels who really wanted to add Revere to the team but not enough to part with Gott.
The Angels tried to salvage the deal offering up a different pitcher in the deal, but that wasn't in the interest of the Phillies so it was a no go in the end.
For now, the Phillies can't seem to make a deal that also helps them out so its status quo with the team.
The Phils now settle in with a series in Los Angeles with the Dodgers.
