The Phillies made the 10th overall pick in the MLB Draft last night. They selected Cornelius Randolph from Griffin HS in Georgia.
Currently, Randolph is a shortstop, but he's not expected to stay there when he makes it up to the big leagues.
If you've been reading Baseball America, the publication already had the Phillies linking themselves to Randolph as their possible pick, and that's who the Phillies selected over other players that were more highly touted in the Top 15 as ranked by many publications, but Baseball America did have him as the 20th pick in the country.
We probably won't be seeing Cornelius for a few years though, as the long road to the big league club awaits through the minors.
