Haranged: Reds thump the Phillies 11-2

Votto is a good player, he homered 3 times last night against the ailing Phillies

The season that Phillies fans would rather forget is rolling on, and the Phillies have suffered yet another bad beat this time by the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 11-2. This 12:35 PM afternoon game is the third game in Cinncy and the Phils face being swept again.

Aaron Harang was the Phillies pitcher last night. Harang was a longtime Reds pitcher who after he left the Reds, became a journeyman of sorts, and he ended up in Philadelphia. It would have been nice to see Harang pitch well against his old team, but this was not the case.

Aaron's Reds nightmare didn't even begin last night. He started against his old team in Philly on June 4th, which was his last start before last night, on that night Harang gave up 5 ER as the Phillies ended up losing 6-4 on the night in Philly. Last night, it was like Harang was pitching batting practice against his old team. Joey Votto went deep 3 times last night on the Phillies, you think they should pitch around this guy sometime?

Harang started off the season really nicely for the Phillies but in his last few starts, he's been on the elevator going down. He gave up 7 ER last night, for a total of 12 ER in his last two starts. His last 3 starts for the Phillies have ended up in losses for Harang and the team.

The Phillies offense looked uninspired again. This is getting embarrassing for the Phils.

  1. The Phils top 3 OBP with enough at bats to leauge qualify are Revere (gasp!), Galvis, and Herrera. In that order...with Herrera closing out that hammering trio with a .286.

Uninspired and embarrassing you say? Its downright painful to watch. Even glancing at the box scores the next day cause me to grimace.
