Tonight in Pittsburgh, Kevin Correia will take the mound for the Phillies.
Last year Kevin Correia was a really bad pitcher. Why then would the Phillies even think about signing this guy? Are the pitching prospects that bad that you would even think about adding a starting pitcher to the roster with horrendous numbers like Correia had last year and the last several years?
Correia pitched for two teams last year, his combined record was 7-17 with a 5.44 ERA, if that isn't bad enough, look at his record in 2013. In 2013, Correia was 9-13 with a 4.18 ERA for the Twins. Could that be the reason that no one wanted to pick him up in 2015?
This season is really getting sublime for the Phillies, they are in the bottom of the Majors and they go out and sign someone that potentially will even make them worse. You've got to wonder what is going on in the Phillies front office with these decisions that they are making.
