Weekend in Washington

Stephen Strasburg hasn't been the stellar pitcher at times that we has been in recent years.

The Phillies are in Washington DC for the final time of the season to face the first place Nationals.

The tides have changed from just a few years ago when these two teams were reversed, the Nationals used to be a last place team, now they are in first.

The Nationals have one of the best strikeout to walk ratios in baseball this year, in fact, the 2014 Nats currently have the best strikeout to walk ratios in the NL ever since 1900.

In the first game of the series, the Phils will face Stephen Strasburg. He'll face a pitcher for the Phillies who has 3 wins and has a 2.03 ERA in his first few games with the team, Jerome Williams.

One of the most impressive stats by the Nats so far this year is when they score 4 or more runs, they have a 66-8 record. They are just 13-51 when a team can keep them to 3 runs or less.

The Phils can start to earn some respect from the Nats if they come in and continue to play the way they have been playing.

Believe it or not, the Phillies are now only 8.5 GB from a wild card spot, if they can come in and sweep this Washington series, who knows? At the very least they will start to make it interesting if this were the case.
