What's 'Happ'enning?

JA Happ making a start for the Blue Jays on April 24th vs. the Orioles

The Phillies face a familiar face on Monday night, J.A. Happ who was with the Phillies for one full season and a cup of coffee early in his career will be on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays in a spot start for them.

Happ, who pitched to a 12-4 record as a 26 year old with the Phillies in 2009, is now 31 and with the Blue Jays since the 2012 season. He never quite regained the glimpse of greatness that we saw him have in 2009. Happ is a lifetime 40-42 in 8 seasons so far in the big leagues.

That doesn't mean that he'll not pitch well against the Phils tonight, because he probably wants to do the best that he can against his former team.

The Blue Jays have had similar problems as the Phillies do. A shakey bullpen has added up to losses for them and a few big leads have evaporated once the Jays go to the 'pen.

The series is a short 2-gamer at CBP, then it shifts to Toronto for 2-games before the Phils head to NY for the weekend series on Friday vs. the Mets.
