Kendrick revisits his terrible side, Phils clobbered by Giants last night

The Phillies fan in this picture should get a contract, he's cool, calm and collective in catching this foul ball while his fellow fans look on and collectively think, "He's got this."

Last night's game with the San Francisco Giants for the Phillies was something that Phils fans don't like to see. Kyle Kendrick, who has looked very good on the mound this year, was roughed up like he was a minor league pitcher out there and barely got out of the first inning.

We've seen this over the years from Kendrick. He comes out and has a few really good games, and then returns to the mound and seems like he is pitching batting practice to a team. In 2.0 innings last night, Kendrick gave up 8 H and 6 ER on 1 BB and 0 strikeouts, as he completely blew up on the night.

The Giants 1st baseman, Brett Pill, went 3-5 with 4 RBI last night to pace the Giants to a comfortable 9-2 win over the Phils in front of 34,067 at Citizens Bank Park.

Here is a list of games in which Kendrick has lasted up to 3 IP and given up 3 or more runs: (not counting last night's game)

Some games it seems that Kendrick just doesn't have good enough pitches to get out of the first inning, and last night was one of those games, though KK lasted 2.0 IP.

Raul Valdes came into the game last night in relief for Kyle Kendrick and struck out 5 batters in 3 IP and only gave up 1 H on the night.

Rain is in the forecast today so we'll see if that impacts tonight's scheduled match up with the Phillies and the Giants. Matt Cain and Cole Hamels are the scheduled starting pitchers tonight.
