The Dodgers are one of the hottest teams in baseball today. They are now in Philadelphia and ready to take on the Phillies, who we all know have been one of the coldest teams in baseball for a while now.
The Dodgers are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have reeled off 8 wins in a row now as they face the Phillies who are really in need of something to change for the better for them. The Dodger pitchers that will face the Phillies is the heart of the rotation of the Dodgers; Greinke, Kershaw, and Nolasco will face the Phillies.
We'll get our first visit from NL standout rookie, Yasiel Puig, who has set a fast pace for greatness this season for himself.
For the Phillies this weekend, it's Cliff Lee, Kyle Kendrick, and Cole Hamels vs the hot hitting LA Dodgers.
Zack Greinke vs the Phillies (from Dodgers official press release):
Friday’s starter at Philadelphia: RHP Zack Greinke (10-3, 3.21)
Picked up the win on Saturday against the Rays with 6.1 scoreless innings in the Dodgers’ 5-0 win…allowed six hits, walked one, struck out seven and threw 110 pitches…reached double-digit wins for the sixth consecutive season
Has won seven of his eight seven decisions, going 7-1 with a 2.49 ERA (19 ER/68.2 IP) in 10 starts since June 22
The Dodgers have gone 15-4 in his 19 starts
Limiting right-handers to a .222 batting average (50-for-225) with a .279 on-base percentage and .302 slugging percentage
Suffered a left fractured clavicle in that game when Carlos Quentin charged the mound after he was hit by a pitch in the sixth inning…underwent surgery on April 13 to fix the injury with a metal plate used to stabilize the fracture
Will be facing the Phillies for the second time this year after defeating Philadelphia on June 27 at Dodger Stadium, allowing four runs on 12 hits in the Dodgers’ 6-4 win
Has gone 2-1 with a 3.27 ERA (8 ER/22.0 IP) in four career games (three starts) against the Phillies
