Phillies start to get hot with 5 Game win streak

This winning streak by the Phillies is the longest winning streak of the year for them, prior to this streak of games in which the Phillies have reeled 5 wins in a row, the longest winning streak by the team was only 3 games, all of a sudden the Phillies are one of the hottest teams in baseball.

It seems like the play of Domonic Brown has been contagious on the Phillies, Brown was named Player of the Week twice in May and won the title for Player of the Month in May, and the other Phillies players have responded by coming up big in clutch situations.

The baseball season is such a long season, with it's ebb or good times and bad times, streaks and other things that happen in between that makes this sport unique. ESPN had the Phillies at 19 of the 30 MLB teams as of last week, but I think the Phillies move up quite a bit for the next update of this list that gets updated on Monday for Week 11 of the MLB season.

Speaking of Domonic Brown, his great run in May has put in in the top spot in most of the offensive categories now on the Phillies. He leads this club in BA, HR, RBI, and H.

The last time the Phillies reeled off a 5-game win streak or more was September 5th to Sept. 12th 2012, when the team had a 7 game win streak, which was the longest of last season. The Phillies are 7-3 in their last 10 games and in second place in the NL East, 6.5 GB from the Atlanta Braves.
