Cole Hamels looks to establish himself as ace today

The Opening Day pitcher, Cole Hamels, will get his first chance at impressing the hometown crowd this afternoon as he gets his second start of 2013 this afternoon.

Hamels, who opened the season in Atlanta, got behind in the game with the Braves as the Braves roughed him up with 3 HR and 5 runs scored in the 5.0 innings that he pitched in the first game of the season.

Cole is a lot better than that, and I expect that we'll see the better side of Cole today.

Note: Got a comment as to whether or not Cole has been an ace for the Phillies before, and of course he has been as ace. The headline pertained to whether or not Cole could show he was the ace of this 2013 team with the start today.
