Welcome back Roy Halladay tonight, as he is scheduled to take the mound for the first time since his last start on May 27th. Halladay brings a 4-5 record into the first game back since he has rehabbed from his sore shoulder, he is expected to go about 6 innings, if everything goes right tonight in LA.
Halladay's seven week stint on the DL was about the time that the Phillies really slipped under the .500 level that they were playing and they started to fade badly in the NL East. Last night, Ryan Howard's first home run since he has been back from injury put the Phillies on course to win their 3rd game in a row.
The small winning streak that the Phillies are putting together is just what the team needed after performing dismally in the first half before the All-Star Break. The team now is still 11 games under .500 and 13 GB overall in the basement of the NL East. A few nice winning streaks could change that.
