The Phillies are off today but it's time for the ALS Phestival again this afternoon. The Phillies players and coaches all take part in this tremendous charity starting today at 4 PM.
Ruben Amaro Jr. at last year's ALS Phestival
Last year, the Phillies raised over $900,000 for the ALS charity. If you've never been to this event, it's one not to miss at least once. There are autograph booths, most of the autographs have long since sold out, but there always is at least one that you can purchase at the event, usually Phillies coaches or management. Last year it was Ruben Amaro and Pat Gillick together in an outdoor 'booth'.
There is also a live auction that has plenty of autographed items from the Phillies biggest stars.
Tickets to the Phestival are $15, and there are plenty of items to see and purchase even without getting autographs, so if you're looking for a good charity to support, and have the time, this is a wonderful way to contribute while having a great time.
