Phinally, some offense

The Phillies offense has been pretty dormant throughout the month of April, last night was a different story. The offense was charged up and producing. The Phils handled the Cubs 5-2 last night in the second game of the 4 game series, with another game this afternoon and on Monday night.

Another sellout crowd last night brought the total of sellouts in a row to 212 last night at Citizens Bank Park, proving that success for a baseball team is very good for attendance. The San Francisco Giants have a streak of their own started, it is now up to 92 consecutive sellouts at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

The offensive numbers have been slim in April, for example, Jimmy Rollins had 2 RBI's last night in the game against the Cubs, for the whole month of April before this game he had 3 RBI for the month. So Rollins is sitting with 5 RBI and the team leader for the Phillies at the moment is Hunter Pence with 11 RBI on the season. To demonstrate these numbers against the players that are in the lead of that catagory: NL leaders in RBI, Andre Either and Matt Kemp in the lead with 24 RBI each, followed by David Freeze of the St. Louis Cardinals at 20 RBI.

Kyle Kendrick gets the ball for the Phillies today, a 1:35 PM start at Citizens Bank Park, it's his second start of the season. He should do much better than he did in Arizona, he had little time to prepare to become a starter with the injury to Cliff Lee.
