Phils pound Lincecum and Giants 5-2

Blanton tonight for the Phillies

The Phillies are showing us that the Sunday win is no fluke, they continued their winning ways out west last night in San Francisco. The Fightin's threw up 4 on the board in the first inning and never looked back as Doc Halladay mowed down the Giants and only allowed 7 hits and 2 runs over 8.0 innings of work.

The mystery of why Tim Lincecum has 'lost his stuff' so early in the season continues. He looked and was very tenative with his pitches and the Phillies took advantage of this. Lincecum surrendered 8 hits and 5 runs as he collected his 2nd loss of the season and now is 0-2.

Roy Halladay improved to 3-0 and at this pace, he may have 20 wins in by July if everything keeps happening the way it has been for Doc so far this season.

Laynce Nix, my pick for 'Player of the Week' on the Phillies Talk podcast a couple nights ago, came through again for the Phillies with a big 2 run double to right last night. No doubt that he may have found his groove with the Phillies and he is settling in for a good season.

Tonight at 10:15pm Philly time, it's Joe Blanton (1-1  2.35 ERA) for the Phillies vs Madison Bumgarner (1-1  3.97 ERA) for the Giants.
