Winter Classic leaves Phillies playing field in tatters

Everyone loved the Winter Classic this winter at Citizens Bank Park, the home of the Phillies. The entertaining outdoor hockey game though took it's toll on the turf at the Phillies stadium and this past week, the turf was in the process of being replaced. Here's how it looked from the MLB.com report, from just last week.

I wonder if the playing surface out in the field will be different with the addition of a new type of sod being used? We'll see soon enough, it's almost February and the start of the 2012 season is starting to sound closer and closer.
