The Mets Prove Worthy Opponent So Far

Forget what the Mets have been through over the past few years. This is a new team, and it’s a team that is starting to show some spunk early in the season. The Mets handed the Phillies their first loss of the year two nights ago, but the weather conditions were more like November with a brisk cold wind blowing through the ballpark.

The season is a long one, the 162 game season is one of the most grueling in sports, no other major sports dare to go that long with so many games.

Another reason not to panic, is that the Phillies are not really at full strength. The team is lacking one of it’s spark plugs and that can make you have a serious misfire now and again.

The Phillies and Mets battled back and forth last night, with the Phillies taking the upper hand and winning the game by a 10-7 score. The Mets have looked pretty strong so far, and I am not so sure that this just isn’t ‘beer muscles’ at this point. We’ll know better in a couple weeks, when May arrives and the warmer weather sets in.

The first businessperson’s special is on tap today, take me out to the ballpark! It’s a 3:05 PM Eastern start today.
