Halladay Set To Pitch Afternoon Game Vs Mets

It's usually a good day when the Phillies have Roy Halladay on the mound. Today is such a day. Halladay gets his second start of the year with the special 3:05 pm matchup against Jon Niese and the New York Mets.

The Mets have shown some early muscle and this afternoon's game will be the getaway game for the Mets as they head off to New York, against the Washington Nationals for a series with the Nationals after today's game with the Phillies. The Mets home opener is not sold out!

Mets first baseman, Ike Davis, has shown great promise in this early season and leads the Mes regulars with a .368 BA with only 19 AB so far this season.

Howard is setting the bases on fire in 2011 so far

For the Phillies, the early offensive leader is Ryan Howard, with a lofty .524 BA. Howard has been on fire for the Phillies and went 4-4 last night. Howard has shifted from home run hitter to all around player. He has 3 doubles and 8 RBI already in this young season.

It's the final game of the three game series with the Mets for the Phillies today. The Phillies and the Mets split the series last year going 9-9 last year.
