I used to think that it was just a fluke that when Cole Hamels pitches, the Phillies just don't score that many runs. Once again, it happened last night in Florida. The Phillies scored just 2 runs on the night, it was enough for the win but it was yet another game in which the Phillies didn't really support Hamels with their bats.

Here is the amount of times the Phillies have scored 0-3 runs for Cole on his starts:

  • 0 runs - 4 games
  • 1 run - 4 games
  • 2 runs - 5 games
  • 3 runs - 2 games

Roughly half off all of Hamels starts this year have fell into this category of 0-3 runs scored while he was on the mound.

Cole has reeled off 4 wins in a row now in his last 4 starts. His record is now 11-10 on the year, with a few of the games that the Phillies didn't score much or any runs at all, Cole could have been flirting with the 20 win season that Halladay is now looking at.
