The Dodgers scored the most runs of any team in 2010 against the Phillies last night. They scored 15 runs against the Phils in a game that looked like it might be close when the Phillies battled back from 7-0 to 7-4 at one point. The Dodgers never looked back taking the score to 11-4 in the top of the 6th inning. They ended up beating the Phils by a total of 15-9 in the end.
Tonight it will be Roy Oswalt going for the Phillies against the Dodgers and Chad Billingsley. Oswalt has started 2 games for the Phillies so far, and the results haven’t been too good. Roy has given up 10 H and 7 R ( 6 ER) in 12.1 innings pitched for the Phillies so far.
Dodgers coach, Larry Bowa, had some nice things to say about the Phillies during the first meeting of the two teams this year. He commented on the Phillies winning ways by saying, "It's not just that they have stars. They have a winning attitude. I don't think there's a bad attitude over there from looking in this dugout. They know what they have to do. Charlie has done a good job with them. The coaching staff has done a good job." Now if it comes to a play where it’s the Dodgers against the Phillies, you know Bowa will be sticking up for his guys but, it’s nice to see that Bowa still has a lot of nice things to say about the team he used to play for and manage.
Another former Phillies player, Vincente Padilla, earned the win last night against his old team. Vincente has the lowest ERA of any pitcher since the All Star Break prior to last night’s game with a 1.04 mark.
