Phils go to 2-0 on Hamels debut

Cole Hamels went on to get his first win of the year last night as the pesky Washington Nationals gave the Phillies a little more of a fight than they did in Game 1. Hamels had a lot of support from Phillies fans that traveled to see the Fightins play. In the top of the 5th the Phillies went ahead 4-3 and then Ryan Howard sealed the deal with a long homerun that put the Phils up to a 6-3 lead.

The Phillies went to victory by a final of 8-4 and today, the Phillies will look for their first series sweep of the year with a 4:35 PM start in DC.

The Phillies Talk podcast scheduled for last night had to be cancelled, we'll do the show tonight with Rich Westcott, Phillies author and historian. So tune in at 8:30 PM to hear it live or download the show later from iTunes!
