Phils hold on to win Game 3 thriller in cold Colorado

The great news is the Phillies won last night 6-5 over the Rockies, they are one win away from facing the LA Dodgers in the NLCS. It didn't come easy last night and the Rockies had a ninth inning charge with two runners on and Troy Tulowitzki at bat. The Red Sox were in a similar position yesterday, but when this situation was presented the Sox walked Tori Hunter from the Angels and loaded the bases for Vlad Guerrero and Vlad delivered for the Angels. Tulowitzki was pitched to with the runners on by manager Charlie Manuel and they got him to pop up with clutch pitching by Brad Lidge.

The game wasn't without controversy. Chase Utley hit a chop base hit in the Phillies top of the 9th and he reached base even though the umpires admitted after the game it probably was foul. This is baseball though and sometimes the baseball gods are on your side. This hit helped the Phillies score Ryan Howard from third on a sac fly to take the lead 6-5 in the 9th inning from the Rockies.

The Phillies can win it tonight starting at 6:07 pm - the game time was changed three times before TBS settled on this time, but I am glad it's in the early evening and not a late game like last night.
